President Trump has declared he is raising tariffs on goods imported from Canada after the province of the Ontario government ran an anti-tariff commercial using former President Ronald Reagan.

In a online post on the weekend, Donald Trump described the commercial a "deception" and criticized Canada's authorities for not taking down it ahead of the MLB finals.

"Due to their significant misrepresentation of the truth, and hostile act, I am raising the Tariff on Canada by 10% on top of what they are currently paying now," he wrote.

Following Donald Trump on Thursday withdrew from trade negotiations with Canada, the Doug Ford stated he would remove the advertisement.

Ontario's Position

Doug Ford Ford announced on Friday that he would halt his province's anti-import tax ad campaign in the US, informing the media that he chose after consultations with PM Carney "to ensure commercial discussions can resume".
