Salah Offers Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the team following the fallout from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a vital match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
