However, later that same month, the channel launched a brand-new animated series with a strikingly different vibe. On December 18th, the network made a major announcement: Haha, You Clowns has been greenlit for two additional seasons. This gives creator Joe Cappa significant creative freedom to expand upon the world of the Campbell family. The series focuses on three polite teenage brothers whose primary trait is their deep love for their widowed father, with Cappa portraying for all four key characters.
"I’m so grateful to the viewers of the show who welcomed the series and helped it grow," said Cappa. "I am overjoyed that I get to continue exploring the Campbell household for a little longer."
A President's Endorsement
In the same announcement laudits from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who described the series as "radically heartfelt and uniquely eerie." He specifically highlighted the fans who found the show and advocated for its uniquely offbeat style.
"All of you showed up for this new show, rooted for it on social media, and grew it week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. "To quote: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"

When it first aired, Haha, You Clowns was praised as "a wholesome alternative" to more cynical adult animated fare. Viewers found something unexpectedly cozy about watching this lovable family go about their simple existence.
Previously, creator Joe Cappa shared his desire to move the comedy genre beyond its current sarcastic tone. He attributed this trend to various cultural shifts.
“We're stuck in a cycle of irony that we keep returning to,” noted Cappa. “The attitude is that we have to know we’re the cleverest viewer in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for a decade, and we need to laugh at something different now. It's time for comedy to grow.”
