Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
