Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”
This update on his health follows the boxing community had expressed its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
